Abstract
THE fuss is about oil and gas in two areas in the Celebes Sea. But, the truth is, there has been no negotiations on the concessions per se.
What happened recently are actions by President Joko Widodo and Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim to expedite the negotiations that have been on and off for the past 18 years.
The two parties have agreed to delineate the boundary for territorial sea in the Celebes Sea on June 8. According to one source, a partial territorial sea boundary has been established following agreement on a baseline.
